Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ Gets Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix
Netflix Renews Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 for Second Season
Netflix has announced the renewal of the animated series Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 for a second season. This decision comes shortly after the show’s debut on April 23, where it quickly earned a spot at No. 7 on the weekly English TV list, attracting 2.8 million views during its opening weekend.
Set in the familiar backdrop of Hawkins, Indiana, the series is brought to life by showrunner Eric Robles and executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer. In this installment, the narrative unfolds in the winter of 1985, as the characters—Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max—adjust to a more typical life filled with Dungeons & Dragons and snowball fights. However, ominous signs suggest that a new horror, possibly linked to the Upside Down or the depths of Hawkins Lab, is stirring beneath the ice. The heroes must confront this mystery to protect their hometown.
The voice cast features Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Benjamin Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper. Additionally, Jeremy Jordan voices Steve, with Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips among the ensemble.
The series is further supported by executive producers Hilary Leavitt from Upside Down Pictures, Shawn Levy from 21 Laps, and Dan Cohen. The animation is handled by Flying Bark Productions.
