Stabbing Incident Near Long Beach Metro Station Raises Concerns
Multiple Stabbings Investigated in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Authorities have launched an investigation following a stabbing incident on Wednesday morning at a Metro station platform in Long Beach.
Just after 5 a.m., Long Beach police responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and 5th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital, where his condition remains unclear.
Metro officials acknowledged the swift actions of an A Line train operator who alerted authorities after observing an injured individual on the platform. "The Long Beach Fire Department and Long Beach Police Department responded to the scene. The victim was transported away to a local hospital," they stated. Additionally, to assist commuters during the investigation, Metro has arranged for a shuttle train service between the 5th Street, 1st Street, and Downtown Long Beach stations, with bus service suspended between the Pacific and Anaheim stations.
Currently, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and details about any possible suspect remain unavailable. The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing to gather information and evidence related to the incident.
