At a recent concert in London, the artist known as sombr halted his performance to address a concerning situation in the audience. A fan appeared to faint, prompting him to urge event staff to provide assistance.
During his performance of the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Back to Friends” at O2 Academy Brixton, the popular Gen Z pop star abruptly signaled his band to stop playing. “Stop the show,” he said, before calling out to those working the event, as shown in videos shared on social media. “Guys, there’s someone passed out over there.”
“This is the most poorly managed venue I’ve ever played at in my life,” he added. “You need to pay attention. It’s insane. I’ve played three nights here, and I’ve never played at a more poorly managed venue.”
Billboard has reached out to representatives for sombr and O2 Academy Brixton for further comment.
Before continuing with the concert, the singer reassured the crowd, “Let me know when everyone’s good.”
Currently, sombr is touring Europe, with upcoming performances scheduled in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Dublin. This summer, he will also take the stage at several high-profile music festivals, including Coachella and BottleRock Napa Valley.
Previously, sombr experienced another interruption during a live performance at the BRIT Awards. During his rendition of “Undressed,” a man wearing a shirt reading “Sombr is a homewrecker” rushed on stage and appeared to hit the artist. It was later revealed that this incident was part of a planned promotion for his new single “Homewrecker,” which debuted at No. 26 on the Hot 100.
Despite the moments of disruption, sombr expressed gratitude for his experiences in London. “I love you so much,” he wrote over a video of the crowd at O2 Academy Brixton on his Instagram Story. “Thanks so much for an unforgettable past 3 nights. I’ll be back London.”
