Shooting Incident at Rihanna’s Mansion: Woman Arrested and Bond Set at $10.2 Million
Authorities have identified the woman arrested for firing shots at Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion over the weekend. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, from Florida, faces felony charges of attempted murder and is currently being held on a $10.2 million bail, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Police report that Ortiz discharged approximately 10 rounds from an AR-15-style assault rifle while parked in her white Tesla, which was situated across the street from the mansion. At the time of the incident on March 8, Rihanna was reportedly at home with her three children. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but one bullet penetrated a wall of the home, leaving damage to the gate and an RV in the driveway. TMZ added that it remains unclear whether A$AP Rocky, the father of Rihanna’s children, was present during the shooting.
No motives for Ortiz’s actions have been disclosed. The Times noted that she has several prior arrests in Florida, including incidents for careless driving in 2021 and domestic violence and battery in 2023, as well as a bankruptcy case in 2013. Records indicate that Ortiz is a licensed speech pathologist with no known connection to Rihanna or A$AP Rocky.
Although no direct contact appeared to exist between the parties before the shooting, Ortiz had made multiple posts about Rihanna on Facebook recently. Notably, on February 17, she shared a meme implying that the singer had a sexually transmitted infection. A subsequent post on February 23 tagged Rihanna and included a direct message that read, “@badgirlriri Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at.”
Law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire at 1:21 p.m. on Sunday, tracking Ortiz’s vehicle after she fled the scene. The police helicopter eventually located her Tesla in a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was arrested about 30 minutes after the initial 911 call. Officers searched her car and recovered the assault rifle along with seven shell casings.
As of now, neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky has publicly commented on the incident.
