Seungmin of Stray Kids Faces Ankle Injury, Upcoming Performances Will Be Adjusted
Trending on Billboard
Seungmin of Stray Kids will be scaling back his activities due to an ankle injury that has affected his performance capabilities.
JYP Entertainment announced the situation via a post on X on Thursday (March 12). The statement detailed that Seungmin recently returned to the hospital due to ongoing discomfort in his foot. Following a thorough examination, he was diagnosed with a suspected stress fracture in his left ankle.
“Although this does not affect him walking or carrying out light daily activities, medical specialists have advised that sufficient rest is necessary for a swift recovery,” the statement noted. “Accordingly, Seungmin will refrain from strenuous physical activities and focus on resting.”
The company emphasized that Seungmin’s performances at the upcoming “STAY in Our Little House” fan event—scheduled for March 28-29 and April 4-5 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea—would be “limited.”
JYP also expressed regret to fans, stating, “We sincerely apologize to STAY who were looking forward to Seungmin’s performance for this sudden news. We will prioritize our artist’s health and do our utmost to support his recovery and provide the best possible care.”
In addition to the fan event, Stray Kids is set to headline the 2026 Governor’s Ball in New York City, where they will perform alongside artists like Lorde and A$AP Rocky. The group will also headline Rock in Rio in September.
Stray Kids last released music in November, debuting their EP Do It atop the Billboard 200 chart. This marked the group’s eighth No. 1 on the chart.
