Seth Rogen Celebrates BAFTA TV Award Win by Honoring Co-Star Catherine O’Hara
Seth Rogen paid heartfelt tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara while accepting the BAFTA TV Award for Best International Series in London. O’Hara, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 71, was a cherished co-star of Rogen’s.
Rogen expressed his admiration for O’Hara, stating, “It would be remiss of me not to mention Catherine O’Hara; she meant so much to us. I assume her work was as important to y’all over here as it was to us, so this is for Catherine.”
O’Hara, well-known for her roles in The Studio, Beetlejuice, Home Alone, A Mighty Wind, and Schitt’s Creek, earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of producer Patty Leigh, a performance that was warmly celebrated.
During the ceremony, Rogen humorously engaged the audience, notably referencing Celebrity Traitors contestant Celia Imrie, who became an Internet sensation after an on-air incident. “I assume this woman in a green dress is a very talented woman. All I know is that she farted on a reality show,” he quipped, prompting laughter from the crowd.
The Studio triumphed over competitors such as Severance and Pluribus from Apple TV to secure the prestigious BAFTA. The event also saw Adolescence and The Celebrity Traitors winning multiple awards, showcasing a vibrant night for international television.
