Selena Exhibit Launches at the Grammy Museum: A Journey from Texas to Global Stardom
Selena Exhibit Opens at Grammy Museum
LOS ANGELES – The Grammy Museum launched its latest pop-up exhibition, Selena: From Texas To The World, on Thursday, January 15. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time personal artifacts from the late Tejano music icon have been displayed outside of her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Curated in collaboration with Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, the exhibition showcases items that highlight Selena’s lasting influence on both music and fashion. Notable artifacts include Selena’s 1994 Grammy Award, her iconic white beaded gown, and the outfit she wore on the cover of her Amor Prohibido album. Additionally, her performance microphone, marked with red lipstick, is featured alongside intimate personal belongings such as her teenage fashion sketches and her personal cell phone.
Instruments used by Selena’s bandmates, including her husband Chris Pérez and siblings A.B. and Suzette, are also part of the exhibit, emphasizing the strong familial ties that contributed to her success.
"We are deeply honored to share Selena’s story and legacy with fans in such a meaningful way," Suzette Quintanilla stated. "It’s incredibly special to showcase these treasured items for the very first time outside of our Selena Museum."
Kelsey Goelz, curator at the Grammy Museum, remarked on Selena’s enduring impact, stating, "She paved the way for so many artists who followed in her footsteps. We’re thrilled to celebrate her at the Grammy Museum, where lifelong fans can feel closer to her and a new generation can discover her."
Selena: From Texas To The World will be on display through March 16, 2026. Entry is included with standard museum admission. The Grammy Museum is located at 800 W Olympic Blvd in downtown Los Angeles. The museum typically operates from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., extending hours until 6 p.m. on Saturdays and remaining closed on Tuesdays.
Given Selena’s vast following, visitors are advised that weekend mornings may experience increased traffic.
