Sean Hayes’ Off-Broadway Show ‘The Unknown’ Now Available to Stream Worldwide
The Unknown to Be Streamed During Final Weekend of Off-Broadway Run
April 2026 – David Cale’s gripping Off-Broadway thriller, The Unknown, featuring Sean Hayes, has garnered attention following its recent nomination for a prestigious Lucille Lortel Award. Viewers will have an opportunity to experience the play’s live digital broadcasts during its concluding weekend on stage this month.
The streaming sessions are scheduled for specific times: Friday, April 10 at 8 PM; Saturday, April 11 at 2 PM and 8 PM; and Sunday, April 12 at 3 PM.
In The Unknown, Hayes portrays Elliott, an author aimlessly battling writer’s block at a secluded cabin. As he delves into isolation, he begins to question his reality, blurring the lines between his fictional narrative and his life. The play poses a compelling question: is Elliott penning a thriller or living one? It offers a thought-provoking exploration of obsession and intrigue.
Producers Seaview and ATG Productions made today’s streaming announcement. Directed by Leigh Silverman, the production is presented by LD Entertainment in collaboration with Broadway.Stream and The League of Live Stream Theater. Tickets for both the play and streaming options are priced at $89, and audiences are encouraged to secure their tickets in advance.
The streaming experience will commence 30 minutes before each performance, complete with additional pre-show content for viewers.
Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon of LD emphasized the production’s excellence, stating, “The team behind The Unknown has crafted Off Broadway theater at its very finest with Sean Hayes as a true star at the helm. We couldn’t be more thrilled to invite virtual audiences into Studio Seaview for the first time and reimagine how fans can engage with live performance in a more accessible way.”
In related news, LD recently revealed that Hadestown: The Musical will be released in theaters nationwide this summer as part of a collaboration with Bleecker Street.
The Unknown premiered at Studio Seaview Off Broadway on January 31 and officially opened on February 12. The limited engagement will conclude on April 12, having set a record at the Studio Seaview by breaking its house record five times.
