Scott Budnick’s 1Community Welcomes Thomas Adam and Maya Jackson to Film and TV Development Team
EXCLUSIVE: Scott Budnick’s 1Community has appointed Thomas Adam as Director of Development for Features. Adam joins Maya Jackson, who serves as Director of Television Development, both reporting to Ameet Shukla, the company’s Head of Content.
In a statement, Shukla emphasized the company’s mission: “1Community was founded on a bold premise — that widely commercial entertainment is one of the most powerful tools for social change. Maya and Thomas exemplify the taste and creative vision needed to truly push that work further. That vision, combined with a unique eye trained on stories that are culturally urgent with global appeal, distinctly suit both for their roles and we’re excited for all that’s ahead.”
Adam comes to 1Community from MRC, where he spent seven years advancing from assistant to Director of Development for Film. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of a diverse slate that included major films such as Knives Out for Lionsgate, the Oscar-winning American Fiction for Amazon/MGM/Orion, Fair Play for Netflix, and Saltburn for Amazon/MGM. He also worked on several upcoming projects including Eloise for Netflix, and served as lead creative executive on All of You for Apple TV+.
