SC Films Begins EFM Sales for Stoner Comedy ‘Getting Lost’ Featuring Kevin Smith, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Basinger, and Russell Peters
EXCLUSIVE: SC Films is set to unveil world sales for the animated film Getting Lost at the upcoming European Film Market. The film features an impressive voice cast, including Dan Aykroyd (Trading Places), Kevin Smith (Clerks), Kim Basinger (LA Confidential), and comedian Russell Peters (Chef).
The film is currently in production, with SC Films planning to showcase the first footage in Berlin during the EFM. The film’s completion is scheduled for fall 2026.
Written and directed by debut filmmaker Michael Mankowski, Getting Lost tells the story of Wild Bill Harris, “an ill-equipped cameraman and nephew of a legendary wilderness TV host who dies during a catastrophic on-air incident. Determined to finish one final episode and reclaim his own sense of worth, Bill ventures into the wilderness guided by the ghost of his uncle, a pot-smoking chameleon, and a growing sense that survival may be more psychological than physical.”
The 2D feature is being developed and produced by the Canadian-based studio Animaginary Inc., with animation services provided by Drimgo Studio in Argentina. Mankowski is working alongside producers Mark A.Z. Dippé (Garfield Gets Real) and John Schneider (Hitchcock). Images of the cast and key partners are available below.
Mankowski remarked, “Getting Lost is a bold, R-rated animated feature that blends surreal comedy with emotional depth. Combining hand-crafted animation and psychedelic storytelling, the film explores masculinity, failure, grief, and self-discovery through a wildly original lens where dead mentors, singing animals, and spiritual misfits guide a reluctant hero toward meaning.”
Simon Crowe of SC Films commented, “Getting Lost is a very funny, action-packed stoner movie for animation lovers everywhere.”
