Sadie Sink, known for her role in Stranger Things, has shared her excitement about joining the Spider-Man franchise as she prepares for her upcoming role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sink revealed that she discovered her casting while wrapping up the final season of the hit Netflix series.
“Oh, it was crazy,” she reflected. “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom’s Spider-Man, especially. To be a fan of something and then join it is a familiar feeling for me, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was super excited about what they had planned.”
Sink also noted the significance of working with director Destin Daniel Cretton, with whom she collaborated on one of her earliest films at the age of 14. “It’s kind of a full-circle moment,” she explained, adding, “I had an amazing time working on that film.”
Though details about her character remain under wraps, she expressed a strong desire to share more information in the future. “There’s so much I want to share. That’s why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets are kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I’m sitting on that feel even more secretive,” she stated.

As Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the fourth installment of the iconic series, the film will continue the narrative set forth in Spider-Man: No Way Home, released four years prior. The new film will explore a world devoid of Spider-Man’s legacy, following the events of the previous installment, where Spider-Man’s identity was erased from public memory.
Producer Amy Pascal highlighted the movie’s central theme: “We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man, because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about."
With Sink’s enthusiasm and the anticipation surrounding the upcoming film, fans can expect an engaging new chapter in the Spider-Man saga.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
