Sabrina Carpenter Dons Lighter Look at Variety’s Hitmaker of the Year Awards
In a departure from her usual glamorous style, Sabrina Carpenter showcased a more understated makeup look while receiving Variety‘s Hitmaker of the Year award in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 6. The pop star captivated onlookers in a strapless gown from Ralph Lauren’s spring 2003 collection.
Carpenter’s dress, featuring a quilt print, echoed current fashion trends, reminiscent of nostalgic textile patterns. The look was completed with subtle makeup that included nearly invisible brown eyeshadow, white eyeliner, rosy blush, and a muted pink-nude lip, while opting to skip the false eyelashes. Her blonde hair flowed in soft beach waves.
Styled by Jared Ellner, known for working with celebrities like Emma Chamberlain, Carpenter’s makeup was crafted by Emmy-nominated artist Carolina Gonzalez.
Carpenter is continuing to embrace the “pantsless” trend, a signature style that has been evident in her recent outfits, including lace bodysuits from her Short n’ Sweet era and eye-catching looks at events like the Met Gala.
Last month, during a dinner at 4 Charles Prime Rib in New York City, she dazzled in a pink-and-brown ensemble from Prada’s spring 2026 collection. This consisted of a collared button-down shirt and high-cut micro shorts, layered under a pastel leather peacoat. Accessories included a suede minaudière, sheer tights, leather elbow-length gloves, and patent leather platforms from Miu Miu.
In October, Carpenter made headlines for her debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, where she performed her song "Go Go Juice" for the first time. She wore a sheer asymmetrical dress by Bob Mackie, showcasing a bedazzled fringe that called to mind the glamorous styles of legends like Cher and Tina Turner. Her ensemble was paired with crystal-encrusted pumps, styled in classic bombshell waves, and complemented by makeup featuring black eyeliner, pink blush, and a muted mauve lip.
