Sabrina Carpenter Embraces Cozy Fall Fashion with a Chic Princess Diana-Inspired Look
Sabrina Carpenter made headlines on Monday night as she embraced a daring fashion statement that echoed the iconic style of the late Princess Diana. The “Espresso” singer stepped out in New York City, opting for a cozy fall oversized sweatshirt, creatively transformed into a micro minidress by foregoing pants entirely.
Earlier in the day, Carpenter had already set the bar high with a striking vintage Chantal Thomas minidress from the brand’s fall 1994 collection. The elegant garment featured a plunging neckline and sheer panels of white tulle, conveying a sophisticated yet playful vibe during her appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.”
In her evening look, Carpenter paired the roomy white sweater, emblazoned with “Late Night” and “NYC,” with black sheer tights, a nod to Princess Diana’s oversized sweatshirt styles from the past. Accessories included bright red nails and lipstick, along with black sandals adorned with rosettes, which added a touch of glamour to her otherwise casual outfit. Carpenter also maintained her signature voluminous blonde hairstyle, carried over from her earlier engagements.
Reflecting on her evolving style, Carpenter has moved beyond her signature babydoll dresses and lingerie-inspired ensembles. “While she has made these styles her calling card on tour, she has begun to explore new avenues in both beauty and fashion,” a fashion observer noted. This shift was particularly evident at the Variety Hitmakers event on December 6, where Carpenter garnered attention for her minimalist makeup look paired with a strapless butter yellow gown from Ralph Lauren’s spring 2003 collection while accepting the Hitmaker of the Year Award.
As Carpenter continues to push fashion boundaries, her innovative looks remind fans of the lasting influence of past icons while carving out her distinct fashion identity.
