Pike, a nominee for an Oscar for her role in Gone Girl, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with the returning cast. “Ruben, our director, promised that I would have a great time on this film, and people say that, but he was absolutely right. We had a great time,” she stated in a recent interview. “I was sad to leave it behind. These guys need a good adversary, don’t they?”
She noted her intent for her character’s evolution, saying, “I was interested in whipping her character into a shape where she was having fun, and then I hoped that an audience would have fun watching her demise,” adding that the more arrogant the character becomes, the more satisfying her eventual downfall will be.
A fourth installment of the Now You See Me franchise is reportedly in development at Lionsgate.
