Rihanna’s Los Angeles Home Targeted by Gunfire While She Was Inside
Rihanna’s Home Targeted in Shooting Incident
Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion was reportedly struck by gunfire while the singer was inside. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 8, around 1:21 p.m. According to a report by The Los Angeles Times, a suspect fired multiple rounds from a vehicle towards the celebrity’s Beverly Hills home.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that at least one bullet penetrated a wall of the mansion. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, and a 30-year-old female suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
Radio dispatch from the LAPD indicated that approximately ten shots were fired from a white Tesla parked across the street, which fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Descriptions of the suspect noted that she had braided hair and was wearing a cream-colored blouse. Officers tracked the vehicle to a parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where they apprehended the suspect.
It remains unclear whether Rihanna was at home alone or with her partner, ASAP Rocky, and their three children: sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, and daughter Rocki, 5 months. A request for comment has been made to a representative for the singer.
Photos from the scene show police crime scene tape stretched across the street. Additionally, NBC News reported that the weapon involved in the shooting was identified as an AR-15-style rifle. More information about the suspect, including the details of her booking, is expected to be released on Monday, March 9.
The LAPD’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division is currently investigating the incident.
