Rihanna Celebrates 10 Years of ‘ANTI’ with Her 8th RIAA Diamond Certification
Rihanna Celebrates Milestone Achievements for ‘ANTI’ Album
As fans mark a decade without a new album from Rihanna, the iconic Bajan artist is celebrating the ongoing success of her acclaimed album, ANTI. On January 28, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced new certifications for nine tracks from ANTI, coinciding with its 10th anniversary.
The standout track, “Love on the Brain,” has earned Rihanna her eighth Diamond certification. The emotional ballad reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017, solidifying her status as the female artist with the most Diamond singles in RIAA history. In addition to “Love,” other notable tracks from ANTI also gained recognition, including “Needed Me” and “Work,” which received new 12x Platinum and 11x Platinum certifications, respectively. Rihanna’s other Diamond-certified songs include “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Eminem, “Stay,” “We Found Love” with Calvin Harris, “Umbrella,” and “Diamonds.”
Further certifications from the RIAA include “Kiss It Better” and “Sex with Me,” both achieving quadruple Platinum status, along with “Desperado” (triple Platinum), “Consideration” featuring SZA (double Platinum), and “Woo” (Platinum). Currently certified sextuple Platinum, ANTI holds the record as the longest-charting album by a Black female artist on the Billboard 200, having remained on the chart for over 508 weeks.
These certifications come during a significant week for Rihanna and her partner, A$AP Rocky, as Rocky celebrated the release of his first Billboard 200 No. 1 album in over a decade, Don’t Be Dumb, on January 26. Rihanna took to social media to express her excitement, stating, “Just me here to let yall know my baby daddy got the NUMBER 1 ALBUM!!! Aaahhhhhh hah! DONT BE DUMB!!!”
While a new album from Rihanna remains highly anticipated, she has not been musically inactive since ANTI debuted. In 2023, she headlined the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show and released the Grammy and Oscar-nominated theme song “Lift Me Up” for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Additionally, she voiced Smurfette in the recent Smurfs film and welcomed her third child, a daughter, with Rocky.
