The year began with the death of Broadway performer and influencer Bret Hanna-Shuford, who passed away at the age of 46. On January 11, renowned composer Guy Moon died at 63. Just days later, Grammy-nominated musician John Forté was found dead at 50. The month continued with the untimely deaths of All That alum Kianna Underwood at age 33, Midnight Oil co-founder and drummer Rob Hirst at 70, and Two Ways With Erica Mena contestant Jardyn “Pee Wee” Walker, who was fatally shot at 23.

That week was marked by the deaths of acclaimed actor Robert Duvall at 95, Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise star Cass Lacelle at 34, renowned songwriter Billy Steinberg at 75, and civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson at 84.
