Reggie Dinkins Story Continues: Season 2 Returns to NBC
Tracy Morgan’s Comedy Renewed for Second Season
The popular NBC comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins has been renewed for a second season, featuring stars Tracy Morgan, Daniel Radcliffe, and Erika Alexander. The network has ordered ten new episodes of the series, which continues to resonate with audiences.
Since its premiere on January 18, the show has captured the attention of over 14 million viewers, making it the number one comedy telecast of the season across all broadcast networks, according to NBC. The network also highlights Reggie Dinkins as the top new comedy for the 2025-26 season among viewers aged 18 to 49.
In The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Morgan plays Reggie, a former football star seeking to restore his image with assistance from award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin, portrayed by Radcliffe. Throughout his journey, Reggie must face past challenges to regain his fans’ admiration and his family’s respect.
Alexander plays Monica, Reggie’s ex-wife, with whom he co-parents their teenage son, Carmelo, played by Jalyn Hall. Despite their divorce, Reggie and Monica maintain a close relationship, integral to the show’s narrative.
Reggie’s romantic interest, Brina, played by Precious Way, is a young influencer who often surprises Monica with her financial independence. In one notable episode from Season 1, Brina treats Monica to an extravagant spa day, sparking concern in Monica about who is funding the affair. The revelation that Brina has a vast following and substantial income adds depth to their dynamic, suggesting her feelings for Reggie extend beyond financial motivations.
The interactions between Monica and Brina provide a fresh perspective, showcasing two strong women who contribute to the show’s humor without resorting to rivalry.
Alexander, known for her role as Maxine Shaw in the 90s sitcom Living Single, marks a highly anticipated return to television comedy.
The chemistry between Morgan and Radcliffe’s characters forms a comedic backbone for the series, blending Morgan’s trademark brashness with Radcliffe’s British humor. The pairing has proven effective in creating moments that resonate with audiences.
Bobby Moynihan also stars as Reggie’s best friend, Rusty, whose antics provide additional comedic chaos.
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is co-developed by Robert Carlock and Sam Means, who serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Eric Gurian, and David Miner are also among the executive producers. The series is produced by Universal Television in collaboration with various production companies.
