Red, White & Royal Wedding Cast Completes Filming for Sequel: A Heartfelt Goodbye
Filming for the sequel to 2023’s Red, White & Royal Blue has officially concluded, marking a significant milestone in the production process.
On Friday, actor Taylor Zakhar Perez shared a behind-the-scenes video on TikTok, celebrating the completion of production for Amazon MGM Studios’ Red, White & Royal Wedding. The clip featured Perez alongside co-stars Nicholas Galitzine and Rachel Hilson, as well as director Jamie Babbit, as they signed off with the movie’s clapperboard.
In the video, each cast member humorously chimed in with “You’re done,” while Babbit added, “That’s a wrap! Every single person is done, including me.”

The sequel, inspired by Casey McQuiston’s 2019 LGBTQ romantasy novel, was first announced in May 2024. Perez has hinted that filming could resume in 2026. This new installment is being written by Matthew López—the writer and director of the original film—alongside Gemma Burgess and McQuiston. Babbit will direct this sequel.
In the first film, President Ellen Claremont’s (Uma Thurman) son, Alex (Zakhar Perez), navigates an embarrassing encounter with Prince Henry (Galitzine), which jeopardizes US/UK relations and his mother’s reelection campaign. Forced to pose as best friends to mitigate the fallout, the duo unexpectedly falls in love.
For the sequel, Perez and Galitzine will reprise their roles. Berlanti Schechter Films, led by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, will return as producers, joined by Michael McGrath and López, while McQuiston will serve as executive producer.
