Rainy Days Ahead: What to Expect from SoCal’s Spring Weather
Rain Expected to Arrive Late This Week in Southern California
Southern California is bracing for a shift in weather as a storm system is forecasted to bring showers toward the end of the week. This may provide a much-needed respite from the recent dry conditions.
As the week begins, an onshore flow will lead to persistent morning fog in coastal areas. Temperatures are expected to remain near seasonal averages before dropping later in the week.
NBC4 Meteorologist Kelley Moody explained, “That’s before the bigger change is to come as we look ahead toward the end of the week. As we look toward Friday and Saturday, we really start to increase those chances for rain.”
The initial half of the week is predicted to stay dry, but the likelihood of rain increases starting Wednesday. “This storm system looks to arrive in the state as we look ahead towards your Thursday,” Moody noted, while also indicating that adjustments to the timeline are still possible.
Moody further stated, “For now, this is all going to stay north of us, and it doesn’t really look to move in on Southern California until we make it to Friday and then continue into our Saturday.”
As the storm approaches, temperatures are expected to decline, potentially hitting unseasonably low levels during the weekend when the storm reaches its peak. However, Moody cautioned that “we’re still several days out, so there’s a lot of time for change.”
