Propagate Content Secures $50 Million Investment from Ares Management
Propagate Content, co-founded by industry veterans Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens, has successfully secured a $50 million investment from Ares Management funds. This funding aims to bolster the company’s expansion into digital ventures, studio operations, creator representation, and traditional talent management.
While specific financial terms were not disclosed, reports indicate that this latest investment values Propagate at approximately $200 million, as first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Under the leadership of Silverman and Owens, Propagate has increasingly focused on management, cultivating a diverse roster that includes creators, actors, writers, and digital influencers through various subsidiaries, including Artists First, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Select Management Group, and Parker Management.
"We are thrilled to partner with Ares," said Silverman, who serves as Propagate’s Chairman and co-CEO. "They bring us incredible financial acuity as well as access to growth capital that will fuel the continued expansion of our independent, next-generation studio. Every dollar will go directly into accelerating our organic growth, pursuing strategic opportunities, and evaluating larger-scale acquisitions. We’re grateful to have Ares backing our vision for the future of entertainment."
This investment comes at a bustling time for Propagate, which is currently working on several high-profile projects, including I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not for CNN, Season 2 of Stick for Apple TV, and The Capital One Skins Game for Prime Video, which premiered on Black Friday. Additionally, its subsidiary Select Management is involved in producing the creator-driven hit show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Founded in 2015, Propagate has built a reputation for successful productions, including the Food Network’s Chopped franchise, Fox’s Doc Martin remake Best Medicine, and the Netflix documentary In Her Hands.
Jim Miller, Co-Head of Sports, Media & Entertainment at Ares, commented on the investment, stating, “Propagate has established itself as a dynamic force in entertainment by building a leading digitally diversified talent representation business while consistently delivering premium content across multiple platforms. Ben, Howard, and their team have created a differentiated company positioned at the intersection of traditional media and the creator economy. We’re excited to support their ambitious growth plans and help them capitalize on the significant opportunities ahead.”
Ares Management, a global alternative investment firm based in Los Angeles, has investments across various sectors, including GoldState Music, Inter Miami CF, Atlético de Madrid, League One Volleyball, and McLaren Racing. With assets exceeding $595 billion as of September 2025, Ares is solidifying its position in the television and digital content space through this investment in Propagate.
The transaction was managed by Propagate Group President and COO Drew Buckley and CFO Noah Nusinow, with legal counsel from Skadden Arps and Proskauer Rose LLP representing Ares.
