Prince William and Prince George Honor Princess Diana in Heartfelt Public Event
Prince William and Prince George Honor Family Tradition at The Passage Shelter
Prince William and his eldest son, Prince George, recently revisited a meaningful family tradition during a visit to The Passage homeless shelter in London. The outing, which took place on December 16, was shared via a video on their official Instagram account on December 20.
At the age of 11, Prince William first visited The Passage with his brother, Prince Harry, and their mother, Princess Diana, in 1993. This latest visit allowed Prince George, now 12, to partake in the same charitable spirit that his father experienced as a child.
During their time at the shelter, William and George engaged in activities that included preparing Yorkshire pudding and assembling care packages for individuals experiencing homelessness. Photos from the event showed the duo decorating a Christmas tree and interacting with shelter residents. Dressed in a dark red half-zip sweater, Prince George assisted his father, who wore a navy blue sweater and collared shirt.
In a poignant homage to his late mother, Prince William referenced his past visit by allowing Prince George to sign the visitor page that he and Princess Diana signed decades earlier. This gesture offered a touching connection between the past and the present, highlighting how the young prince is following in his father’s footsteps in supporting charitable endeavors.
A spokesperson from the Palace remarked, “It was important to the Prince of Wales to share with Prince George the work of The Passage and to spend time volunteering alongside the team. They both greatly enjoyed meeting staff, volunteers and service users, as well as learning more about the charity’s work. The dedication shown not only by The Passage but by organizations across the homelessness sector, at Christmas and throughout the year, is invaluable.”
This visit underscores the importance of community engagement within the royal family and reflects a commitment to addressing homelessness during the holiday season.
