Armed Robbery Suspect Shot and Killed by LAPD in West Compton
Late Saturday night, police officers fatally shot an armed robbery suspect at a convenience store in West Compton, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
Officers were dispatched to the area near Redondo Beach Boulevard and Figueroa Street shortly after 11 p.m. in response to a report of an armed robbery. Upon their arrival, they found the suspect behind the cash register and attempted to communicate with her.
The LAPD reported that the suspect brandished what appeared to be a firearm, which led officers to discharge their weapons. The suspect was shot and subsequently died at the scene.
While authorities did not release the suspect’s name, they identified her as a 30-year-old woman. The LAPD confirmed that no convenience store employees were injured, and there were no reported injuries to the responding officers.
