Police Cruiser Involved in Crash During Westminster Pursuit
WESTMINSTER, Calif. — A police chase early Sunday morning in Westminster resulted in a collision involving a patrol vehicle and a civilian car, leading to one minor injury.
The incident unfolded shortly after 1 a.m. as Westminster police attempted to stop a driver for unspecified code violations. The driver refused to comply, prompting a brief pursuit through local streets.
During the chase, a police SUV collided with an uninvolved vehicle. Authorities reported that a passenger in the civilian car sustained a minor injury. The condition of that individual remains uncertain.
Following the incident, the suspect abandoned the vehicle a short distance away and was apprehended. They were subsequently booked on charges of felony evading and driving under the influence.
