Plan B Europe Welcomes New Talent from Sony and House Productions
Plan B Europe Expands Team with Key Producer Appointments
Plan B Europe, the newly established London subsidiary of Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, is bolstering its team with two prominent hires to enhance its production capabilities.
Maria Fleischer, formerly an executive at Sony Pictures Television International, joins as Executive Producer. Charlie Silver, who previously worked at House Productions, will take on the role of Development Producer. These appointments come seven months after the subsidiary’s launch, which positioned Ed Macdonald as the head of operations.
The newly appointed producers will support Plan B Europe’s mission to develop and produce projects throughout the UK and Europe.
Fleischer brings extensive experience from her position as Vice President of Original Development at Sony Pictures Television International, where she helped build the company’s television slate. She began her career at Origin Pictures and later worked at Fox Searchlight in the UK. She also served as Head of Development at DNA Films and TV, where she contributed to projects under an FX overall deal, including a series adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go.
Silver has spent the past eight years at House Productions, where he developed a range of projects for both television and film. His television credits include Sherwood, created by James Graham for the BBC, and The Good Mothers, produced for Disney+/Hulu. In film, he has worked on Andrea Arnold’s Bird and Danny Boyle’s Ink, which is currently in post-production.
Plan B Entertainment, co-led by Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner, has been part of the Paris-based pan-European content group Mediawan since 2022. The company is celebrated for its award-winning films and series, including F1 The Movie, Adolescence, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Women Talking, and Nickel Boys.
Since its launch in September 2025, the London base has been designed to support the company’s growth and to increase its focus on premium series and films. Currently, Plan B Europe is active in the market, with several projects in development and a strengthened team to facilitate this effort.
“As we continue to grow our distinctive slate in the UK and across Europe, Maria and Charlie are two exceptional additions. With their sharp editorial instincts and key relationships, I am absolutely thrilled to be welcoming them to the Plan B family,” said Macdonald.
Mediawan, created in 2015 by Pierre-Antoine Capton, Xavier Niel, and Matthieu Pigasse, encompasses over 80 production labels operating across 13 countries. Alongside Plan B Entertainment, its network includes labels such as Miraculous Corp, See-Saw Films, and Drama Republic, among others.
