Pete Davidson’s Netflix Podcast Reaches New Agreement with SAG-AFTRA
Netflix Launches Original Podcast Featuring Pete Davidson Amid SAG-AFTRA Negotiations
Netflix has officially launched its first original video podcast, featuring comedian Pete Davidson. As the streaming giant unveils this new project, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has stepped in to represent Davidson in negotiations concerning the show.
With The Pete Davidson Show marking a novel format for Netflix and other streaming services, SAG-AFTRA reached out to ensure clarity on whether the program would be classified as television or a podcast. The union aims to secure a suitable agreement for the production and its distribution.
The podcast will be exclusive to Netflix, which means it will not be available on any other platforms, including audio versions on the Apple podcast app.
Directed by Sarah Brennan Kolb, The Pete Davidson Show is produced by Marc Lieberman, president of Above Average, the digital division of Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
