Peaky Blinders Creator Shows Support for Sex Education Producer’s Indie Project
Kudos Invests in Senti Films, Expanding Production in the West Midlands
Kudos, known for producing Peaky Blinders, has announced an investment in Senti Films, an independent company led by Rem Conway, a producer recognized for his work on Sex Education. The financial details of the investment have not been disclosed.
This partnership will see Kudos and Senti collaborate on upcoming projects. Conway currently serves as a development producer at Kudos Knight, a Birmingham-based hub created by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, who is an advocate for bolstering production in the West Midlands. Conway will continue in his role at Kudos while managing Senti.
Banijay, the parent company of Kudos, indicated that Senti already has a project in funded development with a major broadcaster, with additional ideas gaining traction. It has been clarified that the Kudos-Senti arrangement is an investment rather than a minority stake.
Conway is known for his diverse credits that include Sex Education, Riches, and My Name is Leon. He is committed to developing a portfolio across television, film, and theater that amplifies underrepresented voices in the West Midlands. He previously optioned Nathan Queeley-Dennis’s Edinburgh play, Bullring Techno Makeout Jamz, through Kudos Knight.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the investment, Conway stated, “Senti was built to offer a creative home to talent where they are genuinely trusted, backed and given the freedom to be ambitious. Too often, I’ve witnessed incredible voices held back by a lack of access and long-term support, and we all so desperately want to see a more inclusive industry. Senti Films exists to actively push that change forward. Having Kudos on board is a huge vote of confidence.”
Martin Haines, co-runner of Kudos, praised Conway, referring to him as a “hugely talented producer” who is effectively developing Kudos Knight’s slate. Haines emphasized the company’s intention to support Conway’s creative endeavors within the region.
Kudos is also set to produce two new seasons of Peaky Blinders and is behind projects such as House of Guinness and SAS Rogue Heroes, all under the creative direction of Steven Knight.
