PCCW and SK Global Announce Release Date for ‘The Season’ at Filmart
PCCW Media and SK Global to Release ‘The Season’ Globally in June 2026
PCCW Media and SK Global are set to unveil their premium series, The Season, globally in June 2026. The six-part series will be available on various streaming platforms, including Viu across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa, as well as Hulu and Disney+ in the United States and Now TV in Hong Kong.
Fremantle, alongside De Maio Entertainment, is managing international sales for the series.
The Season boasts an ensemble cast featuring Jessie Mei Li (Shadow And Bone), Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Lee Jae-yoon (Physical 100 Season 2), Karena Lam, Justin Chien (The Brothers Sun), Yvonne Chapman (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Celina Jade (Wolf Warrior 2), and Toby Stephens (Percy Jackson And The Olympians).
Created and executive-produced by Yalun Tu (NCIS: Hawaii), the series is directed by Chilean filmmaker Marialy Rivas (The Jetty). The storyline follows a tight-knit group of friends enjoying a summer of luxury as Hong Kong’s boating season commences.
According to the official synopsis, The Season is described as a champagne-fueled revenge drama set against Hong Kong’s high society summer, where connections are paramount and appearances can be deceiving. Central to the narrative is the Hext family, an old-money dynasty that governs the elite through yacht parties, horse races, and charity galas, all while buried secrets and scandals fester just below the surface.
The plot thickens with the arrival of Cola, an outsider with a concealed agenda. As rivalries flare and alliances become perilous, the season culminates in a climactic confrontation that could unravel the very fabric of high society.
Agatha Lo serves as executive producer for PCCW Media, while Chloe Dan, Matt Aragachi, and Dylan Tarason represent SK Global, with Aaron Shershow (Expats) stepping in as producer.
The cast also includes model and actress Kōki, musician and actor Anson Lo from the band Mirror, and Marf Yau from Collar.
The creative team and cast gathered today at Filmart in Hong Kong to discuss the series. Janice Lee, CEO of PCCW Media Group & Viu, characterized The Season as a “story of redemption with characters who will resonate with audiences globally.”
"We are thrilled to partner with SK Global and our platform partners to share it with viewers everywhere,” Lee noted. “Returning to Filmart one year after our initial announcement, and with the series now complete, we are excited to share a first glimpse of the work realized by an amazing creative team and cast.”
