Paulina Porizkova Rings in Her 61st Birthday in a Stylish Striped Bikini
Paulina Porizkova Celebrates 61st Birthday with Message of Self-Acceptance
As she approaches her 61st birthday, supermodel Paulina Porizkova is embracing her age and newfound self-acceptance. In a recent Instagram video, Porizkova showcased her fit physique while wearing a red-and-white striped bikini from LemLem, the brand founded by fellow model Liya Kebede.
In her post, Porizkova shared reflections on her journey towards self-acceptance, recounting, “I will be 61 tomorrow and I understand this might sound crazy to you, but 40 years ago when I was 21 and at the height of my career and supermodeldom, that was when I felt the most insecure, partly because of the endless comparisons to the other models by the people who employed me.”
She expressed her past feelings of inadequacy, stating, “I never seemed to be good enough,” noting how her self-worth was closely tied to her looks. However, her perspective has transformed over the years. “So today, I’m trying on this cute summer bikini and I flex muscles that I’ve been working my cellulite butt off for…not necessarily so I can look best in this bikini, but to feel my best in this sixth decade,” she added.
Porizkova candidly admitted that while she is committed to maintaining her fitness, her motivation extends beyond appearance. “Actually, who am I kidding? I kicked my workout up like 10 notches because I do want to look my best this summer, but not necessarily in a bikini … in a wedding dress,” she said, referring to her engagement to writer Jeff Greenstein, who proposed in July 2025.
She highlighted the importance of strength gained through life experiences, remarking, “With all the obvious so-called-flaws of age, I have never felt sexier and more at home in my skin.”
Porizkova, who was previously married to the late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, has openly discussed her views on aging and the unrealistic standards often portrayed on social media. Her journey reflects a broader narrative of aging gracefully and embracing personal strength.
