One Tree Hill Stars Bring Everyone Is Doing Great to Netflix with Season 2 Release Date
Netflix Acquires Streaming Rights for Everyone Is Doing Great
Netflix has secured exclusive global streaming rights to the first two seasons of the series Everyone Is Doing Great, effective May 11. This development comes through a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television.
Created by James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, known for their work on One Tree Hill, Everyone Is Doing Great offers a poignant and often humorous coming-of-age narrative. The series follows the intertwined lives of former co-stars and friends Seth (Colletti), Jeremy (Lafferty), Andrea (Alexandra Park), and Izzy (Cariba Heine) as they navigate life’s uncertainties together.
Originally, Hulu acquired the first season of Everyone Is Doing Great, which consists of eight episodes that premiered in 2021. The Netflix agreement coincides with the highly anticipated world premiere of Season 2.
Earlier this year, Netflix and Sony Pictures Entertainment established a groundbreaking Pay-1 licensing deal exceeding $7 billion, encompassing both films and television titles, including Everyone Is Doing Great.
Paul Littmann, Executive Vice President of Global Distribution at Sony Pictures Television, expressed enthusiasm for the show, stating, "What James and Stephen have created…captures what makes great indie television so compelling – it’s raw, authentic, hilarious, and full of heart. Netflix is the ideal platform to bring this incredibly special show to audiences worldwide."
The second season boasts an impressive roster of guest stars, including Jamie Chung, Phoenix Washington, Bryan Greenberg, Jessica McNamee, Robbie Jones, Merritt Patterson, Aaron Staton, and Nichelle Hines.
The series is a product of Lafferty and Colletti’s vision, with additional executive producers including Ian Nelms, Eshom Nelms, Michelle Lang, Johnny Derango, Alexandra Park, Ngoc Nguyen, Stuart Lafferty, Rocque Trem, and Garrett Greer. Sony Pictures Television handles the distribution of the series.
