One Arrested in Hollywood Fires That May Be Connected to Deadly House Fire
Arrest Made in Connection with Hollywood Rubbish Fires
A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of arson amid an ongoing investigation into a series of rubbish fires in the Hollywood area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
Authorities are working to determine whether these incidents are linked to a recent fire that resulted in the death of one woman and left another hospitalized. The Los Angeles Police Department is collaborating with fire investigators on this case.
While LAFD officials confirmed the arrest, they have not established whether the same individual is responsible for the fatal fire that occurred early Wednesday morning. Over 40 firefighters responded to the blaze at a two-story fourplex located on the 1700 block of N. Vista del Mar Avenue.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames within approximately 20 minutes and conducted a thorough search of the building. During the search, they discovered a senior citizen who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another resident, believed to be in her 70s or 80s, was transported to the hospital in critical condition after receiving CPR from the emergency responders.
