Olivia Rodrigo Sips a Guinness in First Teaser for ‘Drop Dead’: A Fun Moment Captured

Fans of Olivia Rodrigo are getting a glimpse of her much-anticipated new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
On April 9, Rodrigo shared a snippet of her upcoming single, “Drop Dead,” via Instagram. Although the brief clip does not include any vocal elements—save for a breath just before the segment ends—it showcases a blend of airy, percussive synths alongside a scene of the Grammy-winning artist sitting in a pub.
The video features the caption in pink text: “I hope you never finish that beer.”
While Rodrigo’s face remains out of frame, a button on her coat reads “super sweet.” In front of her, three glasses of Guinness are visible, one of which she sips from after sharing a laugh.
“Drop Dead” is set for release on April 17, as confirmed by the artist. This single will pave the way for You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, expected to drop in June. This marks Rodrigo’s third studio album, following her 2023 release, Guts, which reached the top of the Billboard 200.
Rodrigo has described the forthcoming album as a collection of love songs imbued with sadness, aligning with its title. “I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them,” she explained to British Vogue in March. “Falling in love, [I thought] that the second I’m in a really great relationship, I’m gonna start feeling good about myself, and this stuff is going to fall into place. But it just doesn’t work like that.”
Recently, Rodrigo has been linked to British actor Louis Partridge, with whom she has been spotted in various pubs sharing drinks. Partridge gained recognition for his role in Netflix’s House of Guinness last year.
