Olivia Culpo Talks about Her Nostalgic Abercrombie Collection and the Impact of Motherhood on Her Style
Olivia Culpo Launches Nostalgic Capsule Collection with Abercrombie & Fitch
Olivia Culpo has unveiled a limited-edition capsule collection with Abercrombie & Fitch, designed to appeal to contemporary fans of fashion and football alike. The collection, which debuts online on December 11, offers a blend of nostalgia and modernity, appealing to a broad audience.
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly, Culpo shared her inspiration: “I was inspired by the nostalgia of football. I feel like there’s so much history in football: the game, the colors, the memories that it brings up for people. So, I wanted this collection to feel timeless and nostalgic.” This collaboration is part of Abercrombie’s initiative to redefine "fan style."
Earlier this year, Culpo appeared in Abercrombie’s “In Her Own League” campaign alongside her husband, Christian McCaffrey, a running back for the San Francisco 49ers. The capsule collection features three pieces: an oversized leather jacket embroidered with the 49ers logo, a gray crewneck, and a black tank top—all adorned with the team’s branding.
“I love the neckline,” Culpo remarked about the crewneck. “There’s just three pieces, so there’s not a ton, but I hope that people will love it as much as I do.”
Since welcoming her daughter Colette in July, Culpo has rethought her wardrobe choices to accommodate her new role as a mother. “When you’re a mom, you really do have to find ways to streamline your life,” she explained. “You don’t have enough time to go through piles and piles of clothes, and you don’t want to—you want to spend time with your baby. So, I find myself reaching for the same things—having more uniforms, if you will.”
Fans can expect to see Culpo sporting her Abercrombie collection during game days and casual outings. “As a new mom, I definitely like to take the guesswork out of what to wear,” she added. “I wanted to create pieces that people will keep coming back for and that will be able to be layered in interesting ways and worn in multiple different ways.”
Culpo also mentioned her role as a personal stylist for her husband, stating, “I don’t even have to go into his wardrobe. I know every single piece that he has. I cleaned out his closet for him. I tell him what he needs to get. I tell him what to wear. He is the perfect client. He just says yes to everything.”
As she adjusts to motherhood, Culpo expressed her excitement for the journey ahead. “Having a daughter just feels like such a whirlwind, but in the best way,” she said. “I’m just really enjoying being a new mom, and things are settling. They’re getting easier with every day out of the newborn phase. … And it’s perfect timing because we’re in the holidays.”
Reflecting on her postpartum experience, Culpo noted the beauty in her body’s changes. “It can be traumatizing for a lot of people… but just finding the beauty in that is what it is. This is a time in your life. It’s not forever,” she explained. Culpo expressed confidence in looking back on this period fondly in the future.
With her new collection and personal insights, Culpo continues to resonate with fans, embodying both style and the heartfelt perspective of motherhood.
