### Oksana Baiul Settles Divorce with Ex-Husband Carlo Farina
Former Olympic figure skater Oksana Baiul has reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husband, Carlo Farina, following 13 years of marriage. The announcement came on January 5, 2023, and under the agreement, Farina has been granted primary custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Sophia.
According to court documents, Farina is allowed to relocate from Louisiana to Las Vegas with Sophia. Baiul later expressed her feelings about the custody decision in a Facebook post, describing divorce as “hard” and “a lengthy and often devastating journey.”
“As I’m sure anyone who has ever been through a separation or divorce knows, it is a lengthy and often devastating journey,” Baiul wrote. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing their daughter, requesting respect for their privacy as they navigate this transition.

The settlement specifies that Farina will make good-faith efforts to arrange visits if Baiul wishes to see Sophia and the child agrees. Additionally, Baiul has committed to attending anger management classes and undergoing drug and alcohol testing as part of the agreement.
On Christmas Day, Baiul shared a video on Facebook showcasing one of her sobriety chips, referring to it as a “gift.” The couple has also agreed that neither will be required to pay child or spousal support for the time being. They have decided to list their Louisiana home for sale, and Baiul may reside in another property they jointly owned.
This follows Baiul’s earlier announcement in October 2022, when she revealed plans to sell her home in Louisiana and relocate due to challenges in finding work.
Months prior, in August 2022, Baiul announced their divorce on social media, requesting prayers for their daughter and emphasizing her commitment to sobriety.
According to reports, divorce proceedings began over the summer, and the couple welcomed Sophia in June 2015.
