North Hollywood Police Recover Stolen Gun and Seize Methamphetamine
Three Arrested in North Hollywood Drug Bust
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers apprehended three individuals in North Hollywood on Thursday, seizing a pound of methamphetamine and a stolen firearm during the operation.
While patrolling the area near Whitsett Fields Park, officers observed suspicious activity involving the trio inside a parked vehicle. Upon checking the car’s registration, officers discovered that it had expired a year ago, despite the presence of a current registration sticker.
The officers requested the two men and one woman to exit the vehicle as it was to be impounded. Upon searching the interior, they uncovered the stolen gun beneath a seat and the methamphetamine.
"Three suspects off the streets — these individuals were most likely delivering methamphetamine to the unhoused individuals in tents and RVs located by the parks," noted LAPD North Hollywood Commanding Officer Captain Warner Castillo.
The two men face charges related to narcotics possession in conjunction with a firearm, while the woman has been charged with possession of methamphetamine.
The investigation is ongoing, with the case set to be submitted to the LA County District Attorney’s Office for potential criminal charges.
