Norco Takes the Lead in Big VIII League Baseball
In a significant shift in the Big VIII League baseball standings, Norco has emerged as the new frontrunner after years of domination by Corona. Currently, Norco holds a record of 16 wins and 2 losses, with 6 wins and no losses in league play. They sit two games ahead of both the Panthers and Corona Santiago, each of whom have records of 13-4 and 5-2.
On Monday, Corona Centennial delivered a surprising upset against Corona, winning the game 5-2. Sophomore pitcher Christian De La O threw a complete game, striking out 10 batters, while Michael Nonis contributed with three hits.
In another notable match, Norco claimed a decisive 10-3 victory over Eastvale Roosevelt. Landon Hovermale improved to 7-0, allowing just one hit and one run over five innings. Codey Brown led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while teammates Zion Martinez and Jacob Melendez each contributed two hits and two RBIs.
