Noah Wyle Shares the Timeframe for Season 3 of ‘The Pitt’
Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa Tease Season 3 of The Pitt at Warner Bros. Upfronts
During a special appearance at Warner Bros. Upfronts, Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa, stars of The Pitt, shared exciting details about the upcoming Season 3. Wyle announced that production is set to commence soon, revealing that the new season will take place in early November, just prior to the holidays.
“We’re about to start production on Season 3,” Wyle stated. “It’s set in early November, just before the holidays, ushering in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications.”
While Wyle did not specify which November holidays would be featured, the possibilities include Veterans Day on November 11 and Thanksgiving on November 26. The show has consistently highlighted the experiences of veterans through various characters. This includes Dr. Jack Abbot, portrayed by Shawn Hatosy, and Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi, played by Season 2 newcomer Sepideh Moafi. The introduction of Duke Ekins, played by Jeff Kober, further emphasizes this theme, as he is an old friend of Dr. Robby, also a veteran.
Previously, it was reported that the writing team for Season 3 began their work in March, as confirmed by executive producer and director John Wells. “We will be back in production in June and plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year,” Wells noted.
The Pitt explores the urgent challenges faced by U.S. frontline healthcare professionals, focusing on the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department. The series offers a real-time perspective on the medical cases and personal crises that physicians and nurses navigate amid overwhelming patient loads and limited resources.
For context, Season 2 took place over Fourth of July Weekend, setting a precedent for the timely and pressing themes the show continues to explore.
