Noah Kahan Embraces His Inner "Hannah Montana" at the 2026 Grammys
Noah Kahan has expressed how the iconic Disney character "Hannah Montana" has influenced his approach to life in the public eye. During a conversation with PEOPLE on the red carpet at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Kahan credited the fictional pop star with helping him learn to disconnect from his musician persona.
The 29-year-old singer-songwriter, known for his Grammy-nominated album “Stick Season,” discussed his experiences balancing his professional career with personal life. Recently married to his longtime girlfriend in September 2025, Kahan reflected on his journey at the awards ceremony held on February 1.
“I can do this [awards show], and then I can turn off and be myself,” Kahan told PEOPLE, highlighting his ability to manage the demands of his public life. He emphasized the importance of finding balance, stating, “It’s taken a lot of time, but I found that balance, and I’m happy about that.”
Kahan defended his homage to Hannah Montana, declaring her a “cultural icon.”

Kahan’s remarks come shortly after the release of his latest single, “The Great Divide,” which explores the contrast between his public persona and personal life. Set to feature on his fourth studio album, the single will officially release on April 24.
As he prepares for this new chapter, Kahan shared his thoughts on the growing "gap" he has felt between his life before and after achieving fame. “I started to think about [the] divide in my life,” he said, reflecting on relationships from his past.
This introspection led to the development of his new song, which Kahan describes as a narrative about two people who grew up together but perhaps never truly knew each other. He expressed a desire to articulate words left unspoken and opportunities missed. “A lot of my life recently has been realizing the things I wish I could have said to people and the things I wish I could have done differently,” he explained.
Kahan has enjoyed recognition in the industry; he was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Cowboys Cry Too" alongside Kelsea Ballerini at the 2025 Grammys and previously for Best New Artist in 2024. The Grammy Awards were broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
