Within a few months, she accumulated multiple awards, including ARIA Awards, J Awards, the Australian Music Prize, and the NSW Music Prize for breakthrough artist, all achievements stemming from her debut album, I Love My Computer. She also recently secured second prize in the 2025 Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition for her track “iPod Touch.”
Reflecting on her rapid rise, Ninajirachi shared, “I just had a little break over New Year and had a chance to think about it. I found that I was reflecting on and processing things from July, August that I hadn’t even had a chance to think about because everything was happening for the first time and so quickly. I feel awesome,” during her conversation with host Roxy Lola.
“I feel like I’ve had a lot of practice and I’m ready to play a million more shows.” Currently, she is on a weeks-long tour in the United States, with plans to perform in Asia, the U.K., and Europe, culminating in her first appearance at Coachella.
In her Odyssey TV interview, Ninajirachi revealed her “proudest” songwriting moment: “‘F—My Computer.’ It was so quick. It took about 20 minutes,” and discussed her favorite video games, particularly Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and its installments, as well as overcoming previous insecurities about her singing voice.
“I just wanna keep doing it,” she stated regarding her passion for music and performance. “It’s so exciting; I’m having the best time ever, honestly.”
Odyssey TV, an initiative of Odyssey Sound Space, aims to highlight emerging Australian artists through a new video interview series described as “time capsules” by host Roxy Lola. New episodes will be released every two weeks. Lola shared, “I was excited to talk to today’s rising musicians in this candid way, so I tracked down different artists I love and met them in spaces where they felt completely themselves in.”
Originally launched in 2022 as a curated playlist project, Odyssey Sound Space expanded in 2023 to include the podcast Odyssey Sound Sessions.
