New Title for ‘Game Of Thrones’ Movie: ‘Aegon’s Conquest’ Has a Working Title
Game of Thrones fans have received a new update regarding the franchise’s anticipated transition to the big screen. The film, tentatively titled Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest, was highlighted during Warner Bros.’ presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The working title was revealed as part of the studio’s upcoming lineup for “2027 and beyond.”
While plot specifics remain largely undisclosed, the film is expected to center on Aegon I Targaryen, known as Aegon the Conqueror, who was the first Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. Aegon is a pivotal figure in George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series and is famed for riding dragons and establishing the Iron Throne.
The screenplay for Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest is being penned by Beau Willimon, noted for his work as the showrunner of House of Cards and as a writer for Disney+’s Andor.
Looking ahead, HBO is set to release Season 3 of the Game prequel series House of the Dragon this summer, while a second season of another prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has also been green-lit.
