New Photos, Trailer, and Premiere Date for Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord on Disney+
Disney+ has announced the premiere date for its animated series Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, set to begin streaming on April 6. The series will launch with two episodes each week, culminating in the final two episodes on May the 4th, a significant date in the Star Wars calendar.
Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the series follows the character Maul as he attempts to restore his criminal empire on a remote planet bypassed by the Empire. In this pursuit, he encounters a young, disheartened Jedi Padawan who may become the apprentice he needs for his relentless quest for vengeance.
“Times have changed,” Maul proclaims in the trailer recently released by Disney+. “I will show you the galaxy for what it truly is.”
The series is created by Dave Filoni, alongside co-developers Matt Michnovetz and supervising director Brad Rau. Executive producers include Filoni, Athena Yvette Portillo, Michnovetz, Rau, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes, with Alex Spotswood serving as the co-executive producer.
Sam Witwer returns to voice Maul, while Gideon Adlon takes on the role of Devon Izara and Wagner Moura voices Brander Lawson. The diverse cast also features Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David C. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.
