Netflix Brings the First Two Episodes of ‘One Piece’ Season 2 to Theaters
Theatrical Release Planned for One Piece Season 2
One Piece, the live-action adaptation of the popular manga, is set to make its big-screen debut as part of its second season premiere on March 10. Netflix has announced that the first two episodes will be shown in over 200 theaters across the United States, Canada, and Japan on the same day.
Showings in the U.S. and Canada will begin at 6 p.m. local time. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Thursday, February 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET. A comprehensive list of participating theaters and showtimes can be accessed through Netflix’s dedicated site.
Major theater chains, including AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo, and Cineplex, will host these fan events, with additional venues in Canada and Japan also participating.
In the upcoming season, fans will follow Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) as they embark on a voyage to the Grand Line—a mythical expanse of ocean filled with peril and marvels. Throughout their journey, they will explore unusual islands, gather more allies, and confront new adversaries while in pursuit of the world’s greatest treasure.
Charithra Chandran, known for her role in Bridgerton Season 2, joins the cast as Miss Wednesday. The ensemble also features Anton David Jeftha, Brendan Sean Murray, Callum Kerr, Camrus Johnson, Clive Russell, and several others.
One Piece Season 2 is co-showrun by writers and executive producers Matt Owens and Joe Tracz. Executive producers include Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, alongside Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda.
This theatrical release follows a similar strategy employed by Stranger Things, which showcased its series finale in theaters coinciding with its New Year’s Eve release.
