Netflix Brings ‘Dad’s House’ Animated Series to Life with Michael Cusack, Dario Russo, and David Ashby
Netflix has officially ordered a new adult animated comedy series, Dad’s House. The show will be executive produced by Michael Cusack (Smiling Friends, Yasl), Dario Russo (Danger 5, Italian Spiderman, The Fox), and David Ashby (Danger 5, Italian Spiderman).
In addition to their roles as executive producers, Cusack, Russo, and Ashby will also serve as showrunners and contribute to the voice cast. Actress Felicity Ward (The Office, Wakefield, The Inbetweeners 2) is also part of the voice cast. The series is produced by Princess Studios and Bento Box Entertainment.
Dad’s House takes place in a small suburban town in Australia and follows 13-year-old Sean, who navigates weekends with his easygoing but well-intentioned father, Ian. The challenge of maximizing their father-son time is compounded by Ian’s unique knack for complicating the simplest situations.
Dad’s House adds to Netflix’s expanding catalog of adult animated comedies, which includes upcoming titles like Mating Season, Dang!, Alley Cats, and season 2 of Haunted Hotel. The network continues to support critically acclaimed projects such as Long Story Short, which has been renewed for a second season, and beloved series like Big Mouth and BoJack Horseman.
Cusack is represented by UTA and JSSK, while Russo and Ashby are also represented by UTA.
