Nastasya Morauw from Searchlight Takes on New Role as VP of Communications at Walt Disney Studios
Disney is undergoing significant changes to its communications team under the leadership of new CEO Josh D’Amaro and communications chief Paul Roeder.
On Friday, the company announced that Nastasya Morauw, previously the VP of Communications & Awards at Disney’s Searchlight Pictures, will transition to the role of VP of Communications at Walt Disney Studios. In this capacity, she will serve as the primary communications lead for Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios.
This change follows Roeder’s recent staffing updates, which were made earlier in the week. He is the Senior EVP and Chief Communications Officer at the Walt Disney Company, and his new team includes direct reports such as David Jefferson, EVP of Communications; April Carretta, EVP of Communications; Carrie Brown, SVP of Internal Communications; and Mariana Vaca, Director of Communications.
As part of this reorganization, the company has also appointed Shelby Cotten, who previously worked on the Direct-to-Consumer communications team, as the new director reporting to Morauw. No replacement for Morauw’s former position at Searchlight Pictures has yet been announced.
