Morrissey has canceled his inaugural concert of 2026 due to a medical issue. The 66-year-old musician was scheduled to perform in Rancho Mirage, California, on Saturday, January 3. However, a statement posted on the Morrissey-Solo website on January 2 indicated that the performance would be delayed due to “an adverse reaction to a prescription medication.”
The statement advised ticket holders to retain their tickets as they will be honored for a rescheduled date. It also mentioned that refunds could be requested from the original point of purchase.
In addition, the San Diego Civic Theatre announced that Morrissey’s concert on January 6 was also canceled, as noted in an Instagram post on January 2. Details regarding whether this cancellation is related to the same medical issue were not disclosed.
The venue confirmed that refunds are available through the original point of purchase. A representative for Morrissey did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The artist, whose full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey, had previously canceled several tour dates in November 2025, including five performances in South America, citing “extreme exhaustion.”
Throughout 2025, he also canceled a number of other concerts due to health concerns, including sinusitis and travel-related fatigue.
In June, Morrissey expressed frustration with the lack of support from the music industry after announcing the cancellation of a show in Stockholm, Sweden. He stated, “The pain of not reaching Stockholm this week is horrific for the band and crew,” adding that there was “no financial support” to facilitate such travel.
He emphasized the challenges faced by his team, saying, “In the last seven days, we have traveled into six countries, and we are travel-weary beyond belief.” Morrissey has repeatedly called for assistance from the industry to help him reach various locations where he has a strong fan base.
