Miley Cyrus showcased a striking new engagement ring at the world premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1 in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old singer attended the event with her partner, Maxx Morando. Reports confirmed their engagement the following day.
Cyrus’ chunky gold ring, designed by Jacquie Aiche, complemented her elegant black strapless Gucci gown. The piece was prominently displayed as she posed affectionately with Morando, 27, during a red carpet photo opportunity.
Francesca Simons, a representative for the designer, noted that the bespoke ring features a cushion-cut stone set on a substantial 14-karat yellow gold band. Experts have estimated the ring’s value, with Blue Nile’s VP of merchandising, Daniela Tarantino, suggesting it could be worth up to $450,000.
"This engagement ring is a chunky gold east-west bezel set ring—a modern and chic trend in the bridal industry," Tarantino explained. "We believe the ring is around 4-5 carats and could cost between $300,000 and $450,000."
Reyne Hirsch, a brand ambassador and former Antiques Roadshow appraiser, provided a more conservative estimate, placing the ring’s value between $150,000 and $250,000.
“The ring is stunning with a very modern and minimalist look," Hirsch said. "It’s about 4-5 carats, bezel-set, and the price would depend on the stone’s color and clarity."
Further analysis from Kristy Cullinane, co-founder of Plum Diamonds, indicated that a mined stone could place the ring’s value over $200,000, whereas a lab-grown diamond would significantly lower its worth—possibly as low as $15,000.
Cyrus was seen sporting the ring previously around mid-November. The three-time Grammy winner and Morando were first linked romantically in December 2021 during Cyrus’ NBC holiday special. Their affection became public in April 2022 when they were photographed kissing in West Hollywood.
In a June 2023 interview with British Vogue, Cyrus shared details about their first meeting, where she humorously recalled being set up on a "blind date."
Reflecting on their six-year age difference, Cyrus commented in a November 2024 Harper’s Bazaar interview that their relationship dynamic works well because they "don’t take life too seriously."
Cyrus also acknowledged their different upbringings, noting, "He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer I shared with my siblings."
In March 2024, an insider revealed that the couple had taken a significant step in their relationship by moving in together. "She is very happy with him," the source stated, adding that he brings a sense of calm to her life, and everyone appreciates Morando’s private nature.
