Michael B. Jordan and His Sinners Cast Come Together to Celebrate Their Gotham Awards Honor

Michael B. Jordan and his Sinners co-stars gathered at the 2025 Gotham Awards on December 1, marking a significant moment by accepting the prestigious Ensemble Tribute Award. Held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, the event showcased the talent behind the acclaimed film.
At the ceremony, Jordan, along with director Ryan Coogler and several cast members including Jayme Lawson and Delroy Lindo, honored their collaborative efforts. Lindo commended Coogler onstage: “No matter the budget, Ryan Coogler is an independent filmmaker at heart in his commitment to his vision.”
Notably absent from the ceremony was Hailee Steinfeld, another prominent star of the film.

In addition to the ensemble recognition, actress Wunmi Mosaku, aged 39, received the Outstanding Supporting Performance Award, defeating nominees such as Benicio Del Toro and Adam Sandler, among others.
Gotham Film & Media Institute’s Jeffrey Sharp praised the cast’s performance, stating, “Led by Michael B. Jordan’s magnificent dual roles, the remarkable ensemble cast of Sinners gives bracing, inspired performances that create one of the great cinematic experiences of the year.” This statement highlighted the film’s emotional depth and the compelling storytelling that captivated audiences.

Released in April, Sinners garnered positive reviews, showcasing Jordan in dual roles as twins Smoke and Stack. The twins return to their Mississippi hometown in 1932, aiming to establish a nightclub for Black patrons but encounter unexpected challenges, including a vampire threat.
The Ensemble Tribute at the Gotham Awards has been presented since 2005, with previous recipients including films such as Moonlight, The Hurt Locker, and The Favourite, highlighting exceptional group performances heading into awards season.
