Mike Epps Signs Deal for Two New Netflix Specials After Successful Launch
Comedian Mike Epps has secured a deal for two additional Netflix specials following the impressive debut of his fifth special, Mike Epps: Delusional. The special garnered nearly four million views in its first week, marking Epps’ strongest launch on the platform to date. Netflix plans to release the new specials in 2028 and 2030, although specific details regarding their content remain confidential.
Epps has been a prominent figure in Netflix’s creative landscape for over a decade. Since 2023, his specials have garnered a total of 12.5 million views, according to Netflix’s What We Watched reports. The latest special, Delusional, achieved significant success, ranking as the No. 5 English-language TV title globally upon its release and climbing to No. 3 on the U.S. Top 10 list. Furthermore, Epps’ previous special, Ready to Sell Out, received a robust response as well, pulling in 5.9 million views within the first six months of its release.
Beyond his stand-up performances, Epps has contributed to Netflix through the production and starring role in The Upshaws, a sitcom focused on a working-class family in his Indiana hometown. The show earned 10 nominations for NAACP Image Awards, with Epps winning the Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series award in 2024.
Epps’ career spans several decades, beginning in the mid-1990s, and boasts appearances in various television shows, including I’m a Virgo, Survivor’s Remorse, and Winning Time. His film credits include The Underdoggs, You People, and Dolemite Is My Name. Currently, Epps is midway through his We Them Ones Tour, which covers 35 U.S. cities, and is set to conclude in the coming weeks.
