Mick Jagger’s Son Turns Nine
Mick Jagger’s son, Deveraux Octavian Basil, celebrated his ninth birthday, marking a significant milestone for the musician and his fiancée, Melanie Hamrick. The couple commemorated the occasion with a heartfelt post on social media.
Melanie Hamrick, 38, shared a collection of photos on Instagram capturing special moments from the birthday celebration. The images showcase the mother-son duo enjoying beach time, celebrating after a tennis lesson, and engaging in family vacations. In one endearing shot, Deveraux stands between his parents, who are all smiles against the backdrop of an archaeological site.
In her Instagram caption, Hamrick expressed her joy, stating, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY my Angel!!! ❤️😊🎂🎉🎈9 years old today!!!!! So proud to be his mama ❤️ everyday is the most wonderful adventure with my smart, wild, kind dev 😍."
Jagger and Hamrick met in 2014, and after two years of dating, welcomed Deveraux in 2016, making him Jagger’s eighth child. Despite ongoing speculation surrounding their relationship status, the couple confirmed their engagement in April 2025. Hamrick disclosed that they had been engaged for "two or three years" during an interview with the French publication Paris Match.
The family often resides in France, where Hamrick and Jagger share parenting duties for Deveraux. Jagger is also the father to several other children from previous relationships, including his daughter Karis with actress Marsha Hunt and other children with ex-wives Bianca Jagger and Jerry Hall, as well as with model Luciana Morad Gimenez.
In recent months, Hamrick has shared glimpses of her life with Deveraux on social media, including a memorable celebration of French Mother’s Day, where she highlighted the thoughtful decorations her son created for her. She posted, "When it’s Mother’s Day in France…and your son turns the whole house into a love letter," illustrating their close bond.
Additionally, in August, Hamrick revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Jagger and Deveraux have matching tooth gems. Fallon noted that Deveraux pointed out the unique family bling during a visit to Paris for the Olympic Games, showcasing the playful and affectionate family dynamic.
