Michelle Williams made a striking return to the Grammy Awards, gracing the red carpet for the first time in two decades. The three-time Grammy nominee, celebrated for her role in Broadway’s Death Becomes Her, arrived on Sunday, February 1, in a stunning sheer black gown embellished with metallic floral designs.
Williams’s gown featured a dramatic silk taffeta overskirt that flowed gracefully as she walked the carpet at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Her elegant look was complemented by an updo hairstyle and minimal makeup, showcasing a natural glam appearance.

The R&B icon accessorized her look with multicolored pastel diamond earrings and diamond rings from Lorraine Schwartz. Williams’s last appearance at the Grammy Awards was in 2006, when she joined her Destiny’s Child bandmates to present the award for Song of the Year.

Initially formed in the 1990s, Destiny’s Child comprised Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson. Williams joined the group in 2000, replacing Luckett and Roberson, and the group disbanded in 2005. At this year’s ceremony, Williams is nominated for Best Musical Theater Album for her work with castmates from Death Becomes Her.

At the 2006 Grammy Awards, Williams wore a gold sequined gown, perfectly accented by matching metallic heels and accessories. Her return to the Grammys marks a significant milestone in her career, coinciding with her recent role in the Broadway adaptation of Death Becomes Her, which premiered in November 2024. “I feel like I’ve already won,” Williams expressed shortly after the show’s opening.
